After a month’s hiatus due to lack of applications, the Planning and Zoning (P&Z) Board will meet Tuesday to hear requests for special use permits for churches and cell phone towers.

The regular July joint meeting of the P&Z Board and the Board of Commissioners (BOC) will be held at 6 p.m. in Citizens Hall at the county courthouse. The P&Z Board hears the requests and votes to recommend either approval or denial of the applications. The BOC makes the final decision.

Harvest Chapel International, Inc. is returning to seek a special use permit to allow church assembly on property located at 2110-C Fairburn Road. The request from the May 5 meeting was tabled.

In a similar request, the Rev. Samuel Davis is requesting a special use permit to allow a church in a shopping center located on 1.1 acres at 3713 Kings Highway.

Other items on the agenda include:

• request from PM&A for T-Mobile South for a special use permit to allow a 150-foot telecommunications tower with associated ground equipment on 24 acres located at 3679 Spivey Drive;

• request from PM&A for T-Mobile South for a special use permit to allow a 150-foot telecommunications tower with associated ground equipment at property located on 6.77 acres on Mt. Vernon Road;

• request by Floyd Evans for a special use permit to allow parking of a refrigerated trailer for fruit and vegetable storage on 2.6 acres at 4017 Bankhead Highway;

• and amendments to the county’s Unified Development Code (UDC) on exterior siding and the adoption of an updated county zoning map and future land use map.
