Over the past five years, local residents have visited Tallapoosa Home Care in Tallapoosa to purchase electric wheelchairs, walkers, hospital beds and other various medical equipment to support their healthcare needs; however, business owners recently relocated the store a few miles away in the heart of the city’s downtown in hopes of offering more convenience to seniors and other customers.

The new home of the business is on West Alabama Street. Charmaine Payne, co-owner of Tallapoosa Home Care, says it sits in a more visible setting in the middle of Tallapoosa when compared to their former location, which was on Arbacoochee Street, near the outskirts of Highway 78 toward Alabama.

In addition, she says their relocation was a marketable move, noting customers can handle many of their healthcare needs in one trip, since there’s a drug store next door.

“We always wanted to be in this location, and the opportunity became available to open here,” Payne said. “Having a drug store next door has really helped our business.”

She says business has been pretty steady, while new customers are surprised the store has been established in the area for several years now.

Meanwhile, Payne intends for the business to continually serve the great number of seniors and residents who suffer various ailments and physical challenges. Some of their available medical supplies include oxygen devices to treat sleep apnea and other breathing problems.
