It looks as if we’re going to be stuck with a drought for a long time. We need to investigate some ways to conserve water and still have a good life.
We could (when we build new houses) put in a gray water system to collect water from every source, except commodes and store it to water our lawns, gardens, flowers, etc. Water-saving devices should be installed on shower heads, commodes, and urinal systems could be chemical toilets and this would do away with septic tanks, field lines and sewer systems. Rainwater storage cisterns could be installed to collect rainwater for various uses. Landscapers should use trees, shrubs, grasses, flowers, etc. that can survive without using lots of water.
