National Alpaca Farm Day
Haralson County 4-H will host a National Alpaca Farm Day celebration Sept. 26 at Wake Robin Alpaca Farm in Bremen. A fun day filled with games for children, handmade alpaca products, and demonstrations on knitting, weaving and spinning. The 4-H Alpaca Club will be performing on the obstacle course. The activities will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Concession stand will be open.
Flut shot clinic
A flu shot clinic will be held at the Tallapoosa Senior Center on Sept. 23 at 10 a.m. Bring Medicare card or cost will be $20. For information call 770-574-7711.
Haralson County 4-H Fun Day
Haralson County 4-H is having a Pancake Breakfast on Oct. 24 from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tickets are $5 and are available from a 4-H member or at the Haralson County Cooperative Extension Office. A Chicken Swap will begin at 7 a.m. with an auction at 4 p.m. The 4-H Chicken Project Show is at 10 a.m. The line up for the Tractor Ride and Show will start at 11 a.m. and the ride will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Entry fee for the Tractor Ride is $25 per driver. Applications may be picked up at the Extension Office. All proceeds will go to Haralson County 4-H with the Tractor Ride to benefit the youth participating in Project S.A.F.E. BB Team. Concession stand will be open after the Pancake Breakfast. There will be other activities throughout the day. All activities will be held at the Callaway Livestock Pavilion. BHS class of 1999
Bremen High School Class of ‘99 ten year reunion will be held at the homecoming game Sept. 25 in the gravel parking lot behind the visitor’s bleachers. A tailgate cookout will start at 5:30. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided, please bring your own appetizers and drinks.
Philpot reunion
The 183rd Annual Philpot Reunion will be held Sunday, Sept. 20, at the Senior Citizens Center in Bremen. The program will begin at 11 a.m. with Dr. Craig Philpot sharing pictures and experiences of
his visit this summer to the Philpot homeland, County Cork, Ireland. Bring your favorite covered dishes as drinks and eating utensils will be provided.
Class of ‘89 Reunion
The class of 89 will hold their 20 year reunion on Bremen’s Homecoming weekend. There will be a tent at the homecoming game on Friday, Sept. 25, and an adults-only gathering will be held at the Mirror Lake clubhouse on Saturday, Sept. 26. Tour of Homes
The Dogwood Garden Club’s Harvest Tour of Homes will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, tickets are $10. Tickets can be purchased from club members prior to the event as well as at the West Georgia Museum the day of the event. Food Distribution
Tallatoona Haralson HRDC will distribute food from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 23, on a first come first serve basis, while quantities last at the End Time Warriors for Christ on Carrollton Street in Buchanan (go around back). Please bring identification. To pick up for someone else you must bring a permission note from that person with their name, street address, income and household size. Female Firearm Course

Benefield Reunion
Zachariah and Mary Emily (Cricket) Skinner Benefield reunion will be Sunday, Sept. 27, at John Tanner State Park from 10 a.m. until? We invite everyone, bring a cover dish and enjoy fellowship and eating a fine meal. Lunch will be at noon (EST). Bring family history and pictures to share. Games and lots of fun for the children.
Agan Reunion
Everyone is invited to attend the annual Agan reunion at the Waco Community Center on Sunday, Sept. 20. Please bring a basket lunch and enjoy the fellowship.

Pancake Breakfast
Buchanan Masonic Lodge No. 78 will host it’s 30th Annual Pancake and Sausage Breakfast Saturday, Oct. 17, from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. Plates are $5 each all you can eat.
Historical Society
Haralson County Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 12, in the library located in the Old Courthouse on the Square in downtown Buchanan. They meet on the second Monday of the month except December and all are invited.
Horse fun show
A Horsen’ Around Fun Day Fun Show will be held Oct. 10 and Nov. 14 at Possum Snout Arena in Tallapoosa. Classes for all ages include Pewee, Youth, Jr. and Open. Trophies and ribbons will be awarded. Registration is at 11 a.m. and events start at noon. For information call 770-574-8104.
Combined Class Reunion
On Friday, Sept. 25, the classes of 1969, 1979 and 1984 are having a Combined Class Reunion. The Class Reunion will be held at The Lion Golf Club (Leo’s Snack Bar & Pavilion) with a cook-out and reunion activities beginning at 4 p.m. If you plan to attend the Homecoming Football Game, it will begin at 7 p.m. Each homecoming class is planning to put up Tailgate Tents in the far end-zone of the football stadium. Everyone should bring their own chairs. After the football game, we will go to Bucket’s in the Stonebridge Shopping Center for a Band Party (featuring Ghost Town). HCHS Band 40th Anniversary
Haralson County High School Rebel Marching Band will celebrate 40 years of tradition on Friday, Oct. 9, during the football game. A reception will kick off the events evening at 6:30 p.m. in the High School Cafeteria. All Band Alumni are invited to participate in the halftime activities on the field as we celebrate 40 years of history and recognize former band directors and drum majors. If you would like, bring your instrument and help with the halftime performance. The football game starts at 7:30 p.m. so come and enjoy the game, halftime show and visit with former band members. Class of 1994 reunion
Calling all 1994 graduates of Bremen High School for a 15 Year Class Reunion on Friday, Sept. 25. Make plans to attend the BHS Homecoming game against Walker at 7:30 p.m. After we cheer on our Blue Devils, we’ll head over to “Buckets” bar and restaurant located at 108 Stonebridge Crossing inside the Stone Bridge Community in Bremen. We’ll gather there (adults only) for food and drinks and enjoy an opportunity to catch up. There is no reservation fee.
Upcoming Board Elections
The Haralson County Chamber of Commerce’s Nominating Committee is currently accepting recommendations for the upcoming 2010 Board of Directors’ election. There is one vacancy representing Bremen, one vacancy representing Buchanan and two vacancies representing the county-at-large. Ellis Reunion
The Ellis Reunion will be Sunday, Sept. 20, at Antioch Baptist Church in Buncombe. Bring a cover dish. Lunch will be at 1 p.m.
Book Club
The Tallapoosa lunch bunch book club will meet at 1 p.m. Oct. 6 in the Tallapoosa Library reading room to discuss the book, “A Prayer for Owen Meany.” The group meets on the first Tuesday of each month in the library. New members are welcome. For information call Karen at 770-574-3124.
Hunter Education Class
A Hunter Education Class is being offered on Sept. 22 and 24 from 6 to 10 p.m. You must attend both nights to be certified. The class will be held at the Haralson County Government Complex Center located at 155 Van Wert St., Buchanan, behind the Tax Commissioner’s office. Please bring your social security number. Walk ‘N Eat With Bud Jones
Join Buchanan’s Friends of the Library in a fun-filled Nature Walk with naturalist, Bud Jones, then return to his Walker Creek cabin for his special hamburger with fixin’s at 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 3. Turkey Shoot
The Haralson County Republican Party will have a turkey shoot, (12 gauge and 20 gauge only). from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sat., Oct. 24. Candidate Forum
There will be a Candidate Forum for the candidates running for election for the post of City Council in the City of Buchanan. Our attempt is to provide an opportunity for the citizens of Buchanan to come out and meet the candidates and ask questions. The forum will be held at The Buchanan City Hall Oct. 20 at 6:30 p.m. Four candidates have qualified, and all four have been invited to attend this question and answer forum. The forum is sponsored by Liberty Christian Outreach, Inc.
