After cancellations due to the icy conditions, Paulding County sports picked back up over the past week.

Saturday the layoff didn’t bother Hiram (13-3) as the Hornets scored early and often in an 87-61 victory over the North Paulding Wolfpack (2-13).

From the tip-off, the Hornets were firing on all cylinders.

Within the first 1:10, the Hornets went on an 8-0 run, including an emphatic dunk by Marcus Brown.

The Wolfpack called a time out to regroup and came back more prepared to handle Hiram’s suffocating defense.

At the end of the first quarter the Hornets led 19-12.
