For the second consecutive night, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to investigate home invasions, the most recent being Thursday night at two adjacent mobile homes in Regency Mobile Home Park on McKown Road.

According to Chief Deputy Stan Copeland, officers were called about 10 p.m. to a robbery at a McKown Road mobile home. While they were investigating the call, they found that the mobile home next door had also been hit by the same robbers.

The four suspects were reported riding in two separate vehicles, a black Audi and a maroon Ford Expedition. They were described as Hispanic males, armed, with black T-shirts that had “Police” printed on them, Copeland said.

“They entered the homes and took cash, cell phones and jewelry,” he said. “They ordered everyone on the ground and bound the victims with duct tape.”

One of the victims was able to conceal a cell phone and call 911. The suspects had left the park before police arrived, Copeland said.

The Major Case Unit is still investigating an early Thursday morning home invasion on Auger Trail, off Anneewakee Road. The suspects in that case were described as three black males, armed with shotguns. The robbers tied up the homeowner and stole several electronic items, according to the police report.

Anyone having information on these cases can call the Sheriff’s Office, 770-942-2121 or the TipLine at 678-486-1253.
