Four-man scramble

The Tally Mountain Golf Course on Golf Course Road in Tallapoosa is hosting a four-man scramble April 8. All players must be signed up and pay by 5:30 p.m. April 8. For more information, call the golf course at 770-574-3122.

Senior trips

The Buchanan Seniors are going to Nashville for a Show Trip. Join the fun-loving seniors for four nights and five days of entertainment and fun. Planned activities include a dinner party with entertainment, visits to Loretta Lynn’s ranch, the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Grand Ole Opry, a guided tour of Nashville, and a ride on a Delta flat boat inside the Opryland Hotel. Relay for Life

Please plan to join Haralson County Relay for Life at our meeting even if you do not necessarily have a team, but would simply like to be a part of our Relay. We always need fresh ideas! The meeting date is Monday, April 5, at 7 p.m. at the Haralson County Chamber of Commerce in Waco. Friends of the Buchanan-Haralson Public Library would like to invite you to join us at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 5, at the library for an enjoyable evening with Haralson County author, Dr. Kele Sewell, who will share with us from his latest book, “Soul Purpose.” Please come and help us share a warm welcome with Dr. Sewell as well as enjoy some good food and fellowship.

Pecans and Peanuts For Sale

Stop by the Buchanan-Haralson Public Library and purchase pecans and peanuts. One pound, shelled pecans $7, one pound cracked pecans $5, two pound shelled peanuts $5, two pounds unshelled peanuts $4.50. All proceeds benefit the Buchanan-Haralson Public Library and the Haraslon County Historical Society.

Fourth Annual Supper with the Sheriff

Haralson County Sheriff Eddie Mixon is hosting his “Fourth Annual Supper with the Sheriff” dinner featuring some of the best chili cooks in the region. Dogwood Dash 5K Walk/Run

The 4th Annual Dogwood Dash will be Saturday, April 10, and registration is going on now! Early registration is $15 per participant and must be post-marked before April 8. Race Day Registration is $20 per participant and registration begins at 7:15 a.m. the day of the race. Participants will receive a T-shirt and an opportunity to win door prizes after the race. All proceeds go to benefit the Tallapoosa Lions Club Vision screening and scholarship fund.

Dogwood Arts & Crafts Fair!

After the Dogwood Dash enjoy the sights, sounds and taste of the Dogwood Arts & Crafts Fair in downtown Tallapoosa, April 10. Northwest Georgia Regional Commission

There will not be a meeting of the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission Council in the month of March, 2010. Our next meeting will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 15, at the Calhoun Convention Center.

Buchanan Woman’s Club

The Buchanan Woman’s Club will have its regular meeting at 4 p.m., Thursday, April 1, at the Edna Wyatt Building in Buchanan.

Free Social Security & Finance Seminar
