Thomas L. Rampy, 85, of Carrollton Street, Bremen, died June 12, 2010. He was born on April 28, 1925, in Randolph County, Ala., the son of the late Lawton Rampy and Katie Burgess Rampy.
Mr. Rampy was a truck driver for Yellow Freight Lines, was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Leroy Rampy and Wilford Rampy, and a grandson, Kevin Rush.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Reba Harvel Rampy of Bremen; children, Wayne and Vicky Rampy of Bremen, Linda and Jim Patterson of Savannah and Keith and Clora Rampy of Talladega, Ala.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Runette Rampy of Bremen and Lester and Louise Rampy of Calhoun; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with the Revs. Haden Conrad and Bill Cowart officiating. Mr. Spencer McGraw and grandchildren, Russ Rampy, Ken Rush and Lori Irwin, spoke. Music was provided by the church choir and granddaughters, Lori Irwin, Julie Clark and Paula Smith. Chris Rampy, Spencer McGraw, A.W. McLendon, Ken Saxon, Larry McCarley and Donnie Lee served as pallbearers. His grandsons served as honorary pallbearers.
Burial followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Military Honors.
