Mr. Barry Leon McKenzie, age 58, of Carrollton, Georgia, died Friday, November 16, 2012.

Mr. McKenzie was born in Carrollton, Georgia, on November 4, 1954, the son of the late James Delmar McKenzie and Georgia Ann “Pat” Vockrodt McKenzie.

He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army from 1973 until being honorably discharged in 1975. Mr. McKenzie worked as an auto salesman in the family business, McKenzie Used Cars, and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Stephanie Allums of Carrollton; daughter, Bridget McKenzie of Hiram; son, Leon McKenzie of Carrollton; grandchildren, Jordan Allums, Kendell Allums, Kimberly Allums; step-mother, Mabel McKenzie of Carrollton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen Rhudine Jennings of Carrollton, Jan and George Hurst of Florida, Ann and Shawn Willett of Carrollton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and GiGi McKenzie of Carrollton, Johnny and Kathy McKenzie of Carrollton, Ben McKenzie of Carrollton; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 5 to 8 p.m.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, November 18, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Carl Jones Sr., James McKenzie, Danny Halwell, Ricky Collins, Terry Robinson and Barry Hayes. Honorary pallbearers will be Clifford Jiles and Jonathan McKenzie.

Interment will be in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
