Mr. Benny B. Eidson, age 74, of Carrollton, Ga., passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012. He was born January 31, 1938, to the late Roy Eidson and Ollie Mae Griffin Eidson.

Mr. Eidson was a member of the 1956 graduating class of Roopville High School, a member of the Roopville Road Baptist Church and Goshen Masonic Lodge #71 F&AM. Following graduation he married his high school sweetheart, Gloria Duncan, and began his career in farming. Over the next half decade he would work as a Dairy Producer for Carroll Creamery and Atlanta Dairies, a Poultry Producer for Goldkist and as a Beef Cattle Producer. During his farming career he was honored with numerous awards for his outstanding production and contributions and served on several Agricultural Association Boards.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Craig Eidson.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Duncan Eidson; children, Clint and Lori Eidson of Douglasville, Amy and Steve Bonanno and Andrea and David McDonald, both of Carrollton; daughter-in-law, Cindy Eidson of Carrollton; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Lyndal Eidson of Holly Pond, Ala..; brother-in-law and his wife, Charles and Joyce Duncan of Carrollton; grandchildren, Rachael and Chris Eidson, Victoria Shank, Evangeline McDonald, Sarah Eidson, Emma Eidson and Samuel Eidson.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at 2 p.m. from Roopville Road Baptist Church with Bro. Stephen Peeples, Rev. Steve Swafford and Mr. Richard Stallings officiating. Pallbearers will be Mahlon Lane, Russell Butler, Bobby Dyer, David Duncan, Richard Stallings, Julian Cook, Greg Denney and John Truitt. The following gentlemen will serve as honorary pallbearers: Joe Mashburn, Harry Eidson, Samuel Eidson, Chris Eidson, David McClendon and members of the 1956 graduating class of Roopville High School. Music will be provided by Greg Denney, Randall Eidson, Joey Eidson, Melissa Adams and Susan Gibbs. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
