Jonnie Mae Jolley, 96, of Gainesville, formerly of Bremen, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012.
Services were Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Hightower Funeral Home with the Rev. David Howard officiating. Burial followed in the Bremen City Cemetery.

Dewey ‘Buddy’ Lyle
Dewey Lloyd “Buddy” Lyle, 69, of Waco, Ga., died Friday, Oct. 19, 2012.
Mr. Lyle was born in Polk County on June 2, 1943. He was the son of the late Rufus Elmer Lyle and the late Inez Ford Lyle.
Mr. Lyle was self-employed in the scrap metal business.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Lawanda and Jimmy Folsom of Buchanan, Pam and Barry Folds of Roopville and Melissa and Todd Abercrombie of Tallapoosa; one son, Randy (and his late wife Karol) of Waco; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel in Buchanan with Robert Edwards officiating. Burial followed in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Cook officiating at the graveside. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Preston Abercrombie, Blake Abercrombie, Todd Abercrombie, Corey Lyle, Jimmy Folsom and Phillip Brett. Serving as an honorary pallbearer was Justin Lyle.

Clarence ‘Eddie’ Martin
Clarence Edward “Eddie” Martin of Sylacauga, Ala., died Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, in a Birmingham, Ala., hospital.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with the Revs. Don Evans and Rodney Wilburn officiating. Burial followed in Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs with military honors.

Robert McClain
Robert Joseph McClain Sr., 61, of 156 Chandler Rd., Waco, died Oct. 16, 2012. Mr. McClain was born May 27, 1951, to the late Aussie and Nettie Kilgore McClain.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters and brother-in-law, Abis Albright, Floyce Holdsclaw and Bunk Vaughn; and a brother, Hubert McClain.
Mr. McClain enjoyed fishing, wrestling, Coca-Cola and Moon pies. He liked to bake, had a good sense of humor and loved his grandkids.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis McClain of Waco; daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and William Vaughn of Tallapoosa, Angel and Fredie Gay of Bowdon, Tammy and Tim Gay of Edwardsville, Ala., Cassie and Jerry Bryant of Roxboro, N.C., Tonya and Justin Bradley of Tallapoosa; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Erica McClain of Tallapoosa; 14 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and sisters, Joyce Vaughn of Bowdon and Nancy Hood of Marietta.
The graveside service was held at noon Oct. 18, at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. James Shell officiating.
Burial followed in Antioch Church Cemetery.

Ruth Mae Johnson Mote, 91, of Bremen, Ga., died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012.

Riley Barrow
Mr. Riley Lee Barrow, 82, of 498 Carlton Johnson Rd., Waco, Ga., passed away Oct. 19, 2012. Mr. Barrow was born June 9, 1930, in Haralson County to the late James Herman and Savannah Mae McKibben Barrow.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Eddie Lee Barrow; sisters, Juanita Barrow Hollingsworth and Hazel Meredith Barrow; and brothers, Burrell Barrow and Conal McKibben Barrow.
Mr. Barrow was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He enjoyed working in his garden, working in his yard, going to bluegrass music festivals, and watching UGA football games. Mr. Barrow earned a Purple Heart while serving his country in the U.S. Army 25th Infantry during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Haynes Barrow of Waco; daughters, Brooxie Barrow Smith (Jimmy) of Anacoco, La., Ginger Barrow Wallace (Wilbur) of Bowdon Junction, Ga., and Jodi Barrow McKinzey (Garland) of Tallapoosa, Ga.; sons, Eric Allen Barrow of Tallapoosa and Galen Dale Barrow (Melissa) of Waco; grandchildren, Jimmy Edward Smith Jr., Joshua Lee Smith, Daniel Barrow Smith, Aaron James Smith, Leeanna Michelle Smith, Holly Elizabeth Wallace, Cody Lee Wallace, Jared Matthew Wallace, Ethan Scott Barrow, and Audry Savannah Barrow; great-grandson, Kaysen Wilson Smith; and sister, Florita Barrow Phillips of Winston, Ga.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at the Miller Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Timothy Winford Phillips and Elder Tommy Patterson officiating. Music was provided by Susan Phillips, Melissa Barrow and Tiimothy Phillips. Pallbearers were Jimmy Edward Smith, Joshua Lee Smith, Daniel Barrow Smith, Aaron James Smith, Cody Lee Wallace and Eric Barrow.
Interment followed in the Kansas Baptist Church Cemetery.

Dean Cash
Dean Cash, 90, went to be with the Lord Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, after a long illness. She was a lifetime resident of Bremen. From 2007, family and sitters took care of her until Alzheimer’s disease took over her life completely. She was then blessed to have Memory Lane of Bremen staff and Agape Hospice, along with a longtime sitter, Myric, and close family to take care of her until her death.
Born Norma Dean Ledbetter, July 31, 1922, in Polk County, the only child of the late Nellie Jackson Ledbetter and William Pardue Ledbetter. Her mother later married Hampton Hudgins and had six brothers and sisters, and all but one sister preceded her in death.
Mrs. Cash was a 35 year employee of the Arrow Company in Bremen and Buchanan and retired as Quality Control Supervisor. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
She was a gentle, loving, classy lady and loved her God, family and friends. She cooked the best biscuits, salmon patties and banana pudding and for many years, while her health was good, she cooked Sunday dinner every week for her family and any friends they brought to visit.
Mrs. Cash loved to travel and toured much of the United States and Canada. Her favorite places were Grand Canyon, Calif., and Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada.
She was called Dean, Mother and Nana. She will be missed very much. May God find a place by his side for this Angel on earth and may she now rest in peace.
In addition to her parents, brothers and sisters, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William T. Fincher, and second husband, Horace Cash.
Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn F. (Robert) Smith, Elaine Wilson, Linda (Randle) Bearden, all of Bremen; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many beloved relatives and friends.
Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, from the Bethlehem United Methodist Church with the Revs. Randle Bearden and Bill Cowart officiating. Music was furnished by the church choir under the direction of Debbie Pruitt. Randle Bearden, Robert Smith, Chris Coffman, Terry Coffman, Austin Coffman and Jerry Persons served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Daryl Whitton, Bobby Whitton and Jonathan Edwards. Interment followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
