Mrs. Elizabeth S. “Betty” Bachelor, age 84, of Villa Rica, Georgia, entered the Lord’s presence Tuesday, October 23, 2012, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. She was born July 12, 1928, in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. Edward D. Stonell and the late Mrs. Claybel Duggins Stonell.

She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Villa Rica and participated in Gold Choir. She was a lifelong homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed. She made great biscuits, pecan pie and chocolate pound cake.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Lee Bachelor.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Robert E. Boggs of Boca Raton, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Lisa Bachelor of Duluth; four grandchildren, Robert E. and Brenda Boggs of Clermont, Fla., Douglas Lee and Angela Boggs of Cheshire, Conn., Ansley and Jeremy Acuff of Gainesville, Ga., and Allison and Travis Snell of Cumming; five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica Friday, October 26, 2012, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Graveside services will be conducted Friday, October 26, 2012, at 12 noon from West Georgia Memorial Park with Rev. Jeff Powell officiating.

The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Ivy Hall at St. Ives and Peachtree Christian Hospice for their loving and sensitive care for Betty. We will always be grateful.
