Mr. Bivins was an active member of Antioch Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday school teacher. He worked as a lineman most of his life and later retired from Mike Lee Construction.
Survivors include his children, Mark and Kristina Bivins of Carrollton, Ga., Chad Bivins of Bowdon, Kim Bivins of Atlanta, Ga., and Michael Strickland of Villa Rica, Ga.; sisters and brother-in-law, Janie and James Crews of Carrollton, Ga., and Sharon Prater of Bremen, Ga.; grandchildren, Ethan Bivins, Kannon Bivins, Ashlin Bivins and Kaylan Strickland; also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Antioch Baptist Church with the Revs. Jim Fletcher and Tommy Rice officiating. Pallbearers will be Mike Lee, Howard Lee, Tim Lee, Rodney Walker, Nathan Prater, Preston Prater and Michael Pierce. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Byron Spruill officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
