Mr. John Ray Moore of Carrollton, Ga., died Feb. 19, 2013. He was 75.

Mr. Moore was born on June 14, 1937, in Randolph County, Ala., to the late William and Mary Brazeal Moore. He attended Big Springs Jr. High and graduated in 1956 at Randolph High School. He joined Big Springs Baptist Church in 1949 and then joined Salem Baptist Church in 1964 and was ordained as a deacon at Salem Baptist Church in 1967. He was raised a Master Mason at Sawyer Lodge # 93 F&A.M. in Wedowee, Ala., in 1958. He served as a Worshipful Master at the Bowdon Lodge #206 F&A.M. in 1973, 1992, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999. He also served in the United States Army for two years.

He was also preceded in death by his two wives Hellen Crews Moore, and Willie Jean Nolen White Moore; Brothers Gilbert Moore, M.T. Moore Jr, and Ivan Moore.

Survivors include his wife Allie Jean Moore; his stepchildren Dwight Wiggins, Dwayne Wiggins and Wendi Wiggins; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 23, at 2 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church with Bro. A.M. Ballenger, Bro. Ralph Caldwell and Bro. J.W. Daniel officiating. Pallbearers include William Moore, Ricky Moore, Bobby White, Johnny Lambert, Dalton Wiggins and Dylan Wiggins. Burial will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with full Masonic Rites.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Salem Baptist Church.
