Tim Padgett, directory of Carroll County Emergency Management, performs an inspection walk during a tornado drill Wednesday morning at Mt. Zion High School. This week is Severe Weather Awareness Week, and the drill gave Padgett and school administrators a chance to see their planning put into practice and identify areas that need improvement. Padgett said that as more schools become multi-story, it is important to get the students to the ground level as quickly as possible in an emergency. In Wednesday's drill, all the students were in position in one minute and 13 seconds. Padgett said the drill went very well.
