Mrs. Cook was born on April 9, 1936, in Calhoun County, Ala., the daughter of the late Miller M. “Red” Stancill and Helen Elizabeth Suits Waldrep.
She was a homemaker and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Cook, and a sister, Arneth Hughes.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Von and Rhonda Haynes, Allen Haynes, Mike Cook, all of Bremen, and Nila and Chris Bell of Buchanan; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Ed Freeman of Gulfport, Miss.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Jan. 17, between 6-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 18, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. J. Howard Mills officiating. Music will be by Judy Mills and John Butler. Landdon Haynes, Kyle Haynes, Canton Cook, Seth Haynes, Ethan Haynes and Lynn Buchanan will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
