• Now that the DOT has spread hot tar all over the Carrollton Bypass we can all enjoy riding on the roughest road in Carroll County.
• Attention drivers: When you are turning left, and you have a green light, it does not mean that you have the right of way if there is oncoming traffic. I have seen several wrecks and many near-collisions at the intersection of Highway 113 and Northside and Northside at Stewart/Shady Grove.
• The litter along our roadways make us look like a third world country. If you don’t believe me take a ride out Highway 16 toward Newnan to Oak Mountain road. Come on Carroll County, we can do better than this.
• Did our founding fathers get paid? When did those with power decide to pay themselves? Should part-time government jobs receive pensions? Not knowing Jim Watters, his character speaks volumes. That two members of the council still voted to have retroactive pensions to 2002 bodes poorly on these individuals. Whether a member keeps or donates to a worthy cause from inner-voted paychecks, the fact remains that government loves to have the power to take and then choose where to give, all at the expense of taxpayer money.
