He retired from Waffle House as a Construction Project Superintendent after 33 years. He enjoyed long drives in his red corvette while listening to his “oldies CD’s”.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Charles Haney Johnson, and brother, Robert Lee Hollingsworth Jr.
Survivors include wife, Marie Cook Hollingsworth of Roopville; daughter and son-in-law, Abbie and Barry Baines of Talladega, Alabama; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Andrea Hollingsworth of Talladega, Alabama; son, Jason Hollingsworth of Talladega, Alabama; step-daughter and son-in-law, Tina Mewbourn of Roopville; step-daughter and son-in-law, Kellie and Chris Bell of Roopville; sister, Hilda Talton of Foley Alabama; brother-in-law, Lester Talton of Foley, Alabama; sisters-in-law, Rebecca “Sally” Hollingsworth of Foley, Alabama, Beverly Hill of Paulding County and Clara Cook of Lake City, Georgia; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 4, 2013, at 2 p.m. from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Bro. David Haag officiating. Pallbearers will be Bobby Mewbourn, Chris Bell, Zach Baines, Christopher Bell, Barry Baines, and John Murphy Akins.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 3, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel.
