The struggles on the road continued for the University of West Georgia men’s basketball team, which dropped an 87-61 contest against Paine in Augusta on Saturday afternoon.

The Wolves (4-4) have yet to win on the road and an early 11-5 deficit did nothing to help that on Saturday.

The game stayed around a six-point contest until the final five minutes of the half when the Lions (2-2) went on a 15-4 run to go up by 16 at halftime.

In the second half, Paine outscored the Wolves by 10 to increase the margin of victory.

Sean Boston led UWG with 19 points, while Taylor Cochran scored 17, but four Lions reached double figures, with Jerel Stephenson’s 23 leading the way.

The Wolves will wrap up the 2012 calendar year on Tuesday when they host St. Augustine’s at 7:30 p.m. at The Coliseum.
