Family hour will be Sunday, Jan. 27, from 6-8 p.m. at Willie A. Watkins Funeral Home Carrollton Chapel.
Mr. Thomas was the grandson of the late Dr. Samuel D. Thomas Sr., Carroll County’s first black physician; and the son of late Samuel D. Thomas Jr., owner of Royal Funeral Home, which was the first black funeral home in Carrollton. Samuel D. Thomas III was also a licensed funeral director.
