The Cougar wrestling team continued warming up for the Region duals in the first week of January, this time with the McCallie Invitational.

Alexander placed eighth out of 21 very good teams despite still having five starters out due to illness.

AHS was led by DeAndre Sims, who wrestled for the first time all season at 170-pounds. He dominated the field on the way to the tourney championship.

Maverick Way finished third overall in the heavyweight division. Cody Dickerson placed fourth at 152. William Brown was also fourth at 220. Trae Green finished sixth at 113.

The Cougars will be back in action on Dec. 29 when they host the Alexander Hardcore Tournament.
