Gladys Marie Hughes Mote of Pleasant Grove Church Road, Villa Rica, died Friday, October 29, 2010. She was born in Fulton County, July 31, 1925, daughter of the late Howard Hughes and Gladys Marie Harper Hughes.

Mrs. Mote was a member of the Abilene Baptist Church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, C.L. Mote in 2003; a daughter, Jean Jordan; and a brother, Howard Hughes Jr.

Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Charles and Renee Mote Jr. of Villa Rica, John Mote of Emerson; sisters, Charlsie Walton of Carrollton, Margie Semanchek of Leesburg, Fla., Mildred Jones of Leesburg, Fla.; brother, John Hughes of Carrollton; 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Services will be Monday, November 1, at 2 p.m. at Abilene Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Jones officiating. Eric Magnuson, Colton Mote, Chaz Mote, David Jordan, Christopher Jordan and Doug Walton will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow in Abilene Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 5-8 p.m.
