Connie A. Morrison
Connie A. Summer Morrison of Buchanan died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012. She was born in Hall County, Dec. 16, 1946, daughter of the late William H. Summer and Arlene E. Lawson Summer.
Mrs. Morrison was a retired school bus driver for the Cobb County School System and a member of Mount Holly Church.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby Hugh Morrison of Buchanan; sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Leslie Morrison of Dallas, Shannon Lee and Deanna Morrison of Buchanan; five grandchildren; a sister, Renee Ulch of Marietta; brothers, William Summer Jr. of Woodstock and Bruce Summer of Cartersville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at Hightower Funeral Home in Bremen with Bishop Evette Guyton, the Rev. Bobby Therrell, JoAnna Jenkins and Denita Bobo officiating. Music was by Stephen Morrison and JoBeth Copeland. Burial followed in Tallapoosa East Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mary Jackson Shealy, 70, of Waco died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Nov. 6, at Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Alton Stamey officiating. Burial was in Hollywood Cemetery Tallapoosa.

Donald Sumlar
Donald James Sumlar, 77, of Buchanan died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012. Mr. Sumlar was born in Polk County on July 7, 1935, the son of the late Jude Sumlar and the late Edna Evett Sumlar.
Mr. Sumlar retired as a supervisor with Goodyear in Rockmart.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Geneva; one sister, Nora Lee Pugh; and one great-grandchild, Jacob Rice.
Survivors include his wife, Ruthie Ellen Harrison Sumlar of Buchanan; one son, Michael Sumlar of Buchanan; two step-daughters and one step-son-in-law, Joy Lee and Joe Brown of Silver Creek and Julie Lee Beck of Cedartown; step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Warren and Ellen Lee of Cedartown; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Harvey Smith of Taylorsville; six grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Ralph Ploof, Howard Locklear and Charles Sutton officiating. Music was rendered by Irma and David Chafin and Kathy Akers. Interment followed in Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kenneth Smith, Scottie Smith, C.W. Ploof, Tony Norris, Joe Brown and Warren Lee. Honorary pallbearers were Roy Worthy, Bobby Clark, Tim Deems and Dean Akers.
