Ms. Margaret Fudge Armstrong, age 93, of Dixie Street, Carrollton, Georgia died Friday, November 16, 2012.

Ms. Armstrong was born Stoney Point, Tennessee, on August 8, 1919, the daughter of the late Charles H. Fudge and Edith Walsh Fudge.

She was a graduate of East Tennessee State University at Johnson City, Tenn., and received her master’s degree at the University of West Georgia. Ms. Armstrong taught school for 46 years having taught in different systems and retiring from Paulding County School System. Ms. Armstrong was a member of the Art Club and had donated paintings for the Magnolia Ball. She was a faithful member of the Carrollton First United Methodist Church and active in 3 church choirs.

Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Fitzgerald Armstrong of Carrollton; son and daughter-in-law, John and Joyce Armstrong of Carrollton; sisters, Eukie Parker of Jacksonville, Florida, Mary Ann Range and Jane Cole, both of Tennessee; grandchildren, Lisa Marie Rivera and Laura Jane Ann Rivera. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Bill Armstrong; brother, Jerry Fudge; and sister, Helen Crabb.

Funeral service will be Sunday, November 18, at 4 p.m. at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy Thurman officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Interment will be in Carrollton City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, P. O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
