Bremen boys fall in opener

The Bremen High School boys basketball team suffered a 79-53 road loss in its season opener at Excel Christian on Saturday evening.

The Blue Devils (0-1) were led by junior point guard Trent McClure’s 15 point-effort — including knocking down three treys — while senior forward Josh Johnson added 12 points, six rebounds and three assists.

Bremen returns to action on Friday at home against Dade County.

The Rebels (1-1) endured a tough turnaround from a late finish on Friday night in their 63-61 home win over Bowdon into Saturday’s matinee at South Paulding, where HC scored just six points in the first half and seven in the second.
