Mr. William Robert “Bob” Hamrick, age 80, of Winston passed away Friday, November 30, 2012. He was born March 9, 1932, in Villa Rica, the son of the late Mr. Walter Terrell Hamrick and the late Mrs. Irene Bennett Hamrick.

Mr. Hamrick graduated from Villa Rica High School earning an Auburn football scholarship. He retired from AT&T after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Powell’s Chapel Methodist Church in Villa Rica.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Bivins Hamrick; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lottie and John Brown, Louise and Calvin “Bud’ Heath, Nell and Otis “Mitch” Mitchell, Ruth Hamrick Daniel and Jack Daniel; brother, Walter Terrell Hamrick Jr.

He is survived by his son, William Robert “Bill” Hamrick Jr. of Mableton; daughter and son-in-law, Elaine Hamrick Brown-Stanley and Jack Stanley of Villa Rica; sister, Hazel Prosser of Gainesville; brother, Joseph “Joe” Bennett Hamrick of Austell; grandchildren and spouses, Dennis and Katie Brown, III of Temple, Ben and Shana Brown of Washington, Pa., Jonathan Brown of Villa Rica, Amy and Tim Bowen of Mableton; great-grandchildren, Adriel Nicole Garner of Douglasville, Dennis O’Neal Brown IV of Temple, Annaleigh Olivia Brown, Washington, Pa., and Noah David Brown of Temple. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside Services will be conducted Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. from Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica with Dr. Jon D. Payne and Rev. Clif I. Daniels officiating. Inurnment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family asked that contribution be made to Grace Presbyterian Church, 5000 Stewart Mill Road, Douglasville, GA 30135.
