Mrs. Dorothy Woodall Springer passed away peacefully on December 27, 2012. She was born on October 28, 1923, in Macon, Ga., to the late Nettie and Ashby Woodall. She was 89 years old.

She enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandchildren. She loved spending time at the ocean with her families. She made numerous trips to the Atlantic Coast and also to the Gulf of Mexico. She was an avid golfer, swinging a club while in her 80s.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter F. Springer and her sisters, Carolyn Dixon and Betty Chastain.

Survivors include her children, Brenda Shelton Dunn (John), of Newnan, William Oliver Shelton Jr. (Betty Jo Shelton) of Carrollton and Brian Woodall Shelton (Pat Shelton), also of Newnan. Her grandchildren are Lisa Campbell (Scott ), Kim Elrod, Tina Payton (Reece), Pam Dodson (Craig), Trae Shelton and Craig Shelton. Her great-grandchildren are Ben Campbell, Lauren Payton Pringle (Cody), Bailey, Wil, Mercer and Gunter Payton, Madison and Mason Dodson, Kyla, Drew and Zack Shelton. Her great-great-grandson is Canyon Pringle.

Funeral services will be held at Central Baptist Church, Newnan, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 30, 2012. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Craig Dodson, Trae Shelton, Craig Shelton, Luis Rodriguez, Scott Campbell, Reece Payton, Mike Morrison and Cody Pringle.
