Julia Gail Odom was born Oct. 11, 1946, to Lessie Hutto Odom and Samuel Preston Odom, in Marianna, Fla. She grew up in Enterprise, Ala. She died in Bremen, Ga., on Dec. 31, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lydia and Alfred Odom and H.H. and Judy Hutto; her parents, Lessie and Preston Odom; two brothers, Cecil Odom and Alex “Buddy” Odom; two nephews; and one great-niece.

She is survived by her sisters, Helen McClellan, with whom she has lived since 1995 in Bremen, Ga., and Elaine Newman of Ft. Smith, Ark.; two sisters-in-law, Christine Odom and Sherrie Odom, both of Plant City, Fla.; 11 nieces and nephews; and numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She attended First Baptist Church of Bremen and was a member of Sharon Sewell’s Sunday School Class.

Since 1995 she was a participant at Haralson Progressive Industries (HPI), a facility for developmentally disabled adults in Bremen.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at The Chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Bradford (her nephew), Miss Sharon Sewell, and the Rev. Herman Parker officiating. Music will be provided by Miss Sharon Sewell and Mrs. Sara Calhoun. Graveside prayer will be led by the Rev. Mark L. Fitzhugh. Pallbearers will be John McClellan, Mark McClellan, Kevin McClellan, Kyle McClellan, Preston McClellan and Terry Crawford.

Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
