Mr. Steed was born on February 20, 1956, in Carrollton, Georgia, to Nettie Steed Millirons and the late Don Steed.
He was a graduate of Bowdon High School in 1974 and from Arkansas Enterprises for the Blind and Vision Impaired in 1975. He was employed by the Georgia Industry for the Blind in Griffin, Georgia, and operated snack stands at private businesses and technical schools until 1994. Upon his disability retirement, he returned to Bowdon and lived in the home in which he was raised.
He was preceded in death by his father, Don Steed.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Nettie and Charles Millirons; his sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Dennis Kirk; his brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Venita Steed; his nieces and nephews, Lorrie Steed Pate, Derick Steed, Adam Kirk, Rebekah Kirk, and Anna Kirk; and many great-nieces and nephews that he loved and cherished.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Methodist Cemetery in the Burwell community. Rev. Jeff Pate will officiate. Following the services, the family will receive friends for fellowship and refreshments at the Bowdon Baptist Church social hall at 3 p.m.
