Mr. Harrell was born in Cleburne County, Alabama on September 10, 1945. He was the son of the late Fred Nathaniel Harrell and Sara Gentry Harrell. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sue Harper and Jean Harrell; one brother, Bobby Harrell; one son, Jonathan Harrell; and one grandson, Kane Rowell.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Marjean Newborn Harrell of Buchanan; two daughters and son-in-law, Rebecca Harper and Jody and Howard Haas; one son and daughter-in-law, James Nathaniel and Darlene Harrell Jr.; nine grandchildren, Shyanne Haas, Taylor Haas, Sarah Haas, Jonathan Haas, Rachel Harper, Matthew Harrell, Samuel Harrell, Danielle Hicks Lewis, Skyler Lewis and Zack hicks; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Lewis, Bella Lewis, Maddie Lewis, and Sophia Lewis; three sisters and four step-sisters; Mary Jones, Sara Lou Wade, Joyce Cash, Joyce Summerville, Ruby Harrell, Sara May Folsom and Linda Carroll; and two brothers; Bobby Lewis and Jimmy Lewis.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 11, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel with Reverend Earl Wiggly and Jamie Harrell officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
