Mr. William L. “Billy” Lyle, age 88, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013. He was born November 14, 1924, in Carrollton, Georgia, the son of the late T. Lester Lyle and Gwynn Meigs Lyle.

He was a retired truck driver with Ryder Truck Lines, a World War II United States Army veteran, and a member of Lowell United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, E. Mae Holland Lyle.

Survivors include his best friend and companion, Sybil Lyle of Carrollton; children, William R. “Ronnie” Lyle of Newnan, Pamela Ann Lyle Posey and husband, David, of Lawrenceville, and Russell L. Lyle and wife, Jennifer, of Carrollton; sister, Mary Lyle Wood of Carrollton; brothers, Kenneth M. Lyle and Elton G. Lyle, both of Carrollton; grandchildren: Tiffany Lyle Vorse, Ronald R. Lyle, Dustin H. Lyle, Chelsea M. Goode, William M. Goode and Russell Payton Lyle; great-grandchildren. Jackson Vorse, Anna Vorse and Ava Lyle.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 12, 2013, at 3 p.m. from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Tim Constien officiating. Those serving as pallbearers will be Dustin H. Lyle, Ronald Russell Lyle, Brian Vorse, William Goode, Russell Payton Lyle, Greg Lyle, David Wood and Randy Gallagher. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens with Rev. Tim Constien and Rev. Glenn Lyle presiding.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, from 1 to 3 p.m.
