Loving sister, wife, mother and grandmother Mrs. Beulah Mae Smith Jackson Cooke passed away January 10, 2013, at Memory Lane Assisted Living in Bowdon, Ga. She lived 92 wonderful years surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Mrs. Cooke was born on February 29, 1920, in Cleburne County, Ala., to the late James Ester and Hattie Byrd Smith.

She was preceded in death by siblings, infant Junior Smith, Eunice Cooke, Myrl Preston and Era Smith. Mrs. Cooke is survived by her sister Jean Clarke, Carrollton, Ga.; brother Jerry (Donuah) Smith, Bowdon, Ga.; sister-in-law Charlsie Pollard, Ranburne, Ala.; brother-in-law Aaron Jackson, Birmingham, Ala.

She and her late husband, Calton D.Jackson, were retired poultry farmers and made their home for 50 years in the Macedonia Community of Ranburne, Ala. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, loved gospel music and sang in the church choir for many years. Mrs. Cooke was also preceded in death by her husband, Rafe Cooke, of Fort Morgan, Ala.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wendell and Kay Jackson of Woodland, Ala.; daughter and son-in-law, Dixie and Jack Shumake of Bowdon, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Sybil Jackson of Ranburne, Ala.; grandchildren, Chris (Debra) Jackson, Cindy (Steve) Jones, Sandra (Ray) Moss, Sheila Jackson, Jason Shumake and Meagan Jackson; great-grandchildren Ryan (Amber) Jackson, Riley (Savannah) Jackson; Ben, Brant and Bart Jones, Amberley (Wesley) Carter, Aleia Austin and fiance, Drew Morris; five great-great-grandchildren, Caleb, Seth, Aiden and Aaron Jackson and Logan Carter.

Visitation was held at Rainwater Funeral Home on Saturday, January 12, 2013, from 4 p.m.-6 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2013, at 2 p.m. (Alabama time) at Macedonia Baptist Church, Ranburne, Ala., with her grandson, Rev. Chris Jackson, and great-nephew, Bro. Roger Wood, officiating. Great-grandchildren will serve as pallbearers with interment following in the church cemetery.
