The Holy Ground Baptist Academy girls’ basketball team picked up a 57-50 win over rival Creekside Christian on Friday evening, using a tenacious defense and developing offense to collect its third win in the past four games.

Anna Henry led the Lady Stallions with 20 points, followed by Emily Yancey with 12, Abby Hulsey with 11 and Ansley Wall with eight points.

“We are starting to figure this game out a little, but still have a long ways to go,” noted HG coach Mike Wall. “We have depth on our bench, and right now we are wearing teams down. When the fourth quarter begins, we have the advantage. Our coaches have worked them hard and pushed them to dig a little deeper, because we see something great in this team. And now we are all beginning to see the fruit of all our hard work.”

Holy Ground returns to action on Friday at Ballard.
