Mr. Marlow was born in Carrollton on October 14, 1918, to the late Joseph Earl and Bethie Cook Marlow. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and was retired from CSX Railroad where he worked as a conductor for 36 years. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Marlow; and two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his daughter, Margaret Ann Marlow Chalker and her husband, Jerry Chalker, and Jenny Marlow Thompson; his grandchildren, Christopher Thompson, Any Thomas, Russell Thompson, Courtney Chalker, Jeremy Chalker, and Kevin Chalker; his great-grandchildren, Marlow Thomas, Emily Thompson, Reid Thomas, Ford Thompson, Christopher W. Thompson, Brooke Thompson, Keith Chalker, Sonny Chalker, Kaleb Chalker, Gabriel Chalker, and Theo Chalker; and his sister, Sarah Nell Barnes.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church. Rev. Tony McManus will officiate. Music will be provided by Mr. Mark Barnes. Mr. Marlow’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 7, 2013, from 4 until 6 p.m.
