He was preceded by his parents, Jay B. Garrett and Freda Willis Garrett, and two sisters, Joanne Miller and Ruth Ellen Garrett.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Theresa Wright Garrett of Bowdon, Ga.; two sons, Bobby Garrett and his wife, Karen of Franklin, Ga., and John Garrett of Federal Way, Wash.; sister, Lois Sparks of Fairburn, Ga.; six grandchildren, Krista, Frank, Shane, Kimberly, Chelsea and Dustin; and four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jacob, Connor and McKeanna.
The family will host a private memorial service at a later date.
