Bremen tennis sweeps Central

The Bremen High School tennis teams swept a match with local rival Central on Tuesday, with the Lady Blue Devils picking up a 3-2 victory, while the Blue Devils won a 4-1 decision at Central.

In the girls’ match, Bremen got wins in singles play from No. 1 Meg Cummings (10-6) and No. 3 Emily Cheshier (11-9), while Wrenn Parrish/Charlotte Williams won at No. 2 doubles (10-4).

Earning wins for the Lady Lions was Sydney Stone at No. 2 singles (10-9) and Betty Jo Rounds/Lauren Bush at No. 1 doubles (10-4). In an exhibition match, Kendall Costley/Elizabeth Minick were also victorious for Central (7-6).

In boys’ action, Bremen swept in singles play, with No. 1 Nick Forrister (10-0), No. 2 Cale Van Dyke (10-5) and No. 3 Jordan Leahey (10-1) all collecting victories. Central’s Jarrett Thomas/Andrew Toney won at No. 1 doubles (10-5), while Vines/Sammon won (10-7) at No. 2 doubles for Bremen.
