Mr. John Vinson “Junior” Todd, Jr., age 80, of Roopville, Georgia, passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 27, 2013.

Funeral services for Mr. Todd will be conducted on Friday, February, 29, 2013, at 2 p.m. from the Welcome United Methodist Church in Roopville, Georgia, with the Reverends Jim Fletcher, Bobby Robinson and Jerred Evans officiating. The interment will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Welcome United Methodist Church, 934 Welcome Road, Roopville, GA 30170, or the West Georgia Hospice, 1514 Vernon Road, LaGrange, GA 30240.

Mr. Todd was born in Roopville, Georgia, on May 26, 1932, the son of the late Clara Ellender Gentry Todd, and John Vinson Todd. He served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army. For his gallantry he received the United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal W/1 Bronze Service Star, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal AR 600-85, and the National Defense Service Medal. He was a faithful member of the Welcome United Methodist Church, and was retired from the Heard County Department of Transportation.

“Mr. Junior” always had a smile on his face and a welcome word for all he met. His warm disposition made him a favorite to all who knew him. For many years he has been involved in both the Goshen Masonic Lodge #78 and Centralhatchee Masonic Lodge #403 for which has served as past Master of both. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Todd; three daughters, Debra Caraveo (Andrew), Ellen Hill (Gordon), and Jan Privitt (Sam); one son, Mike Todd (Tabitha); five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of Roopville, Georgia.
