Mrs. Frances Pauline Hallman, age 85, of Winston, Ga., passed into the hands of GOD late on the evening of February 28, 2013. She was born October 14, 1927, in Douglas County, Ga.

She fought the good fight and now is reaping the rewards of her unbreakable faith in GOD.

Pauline graduated from Douglas County High School in 1943. Mrs. Hallman was the Social Editor for the Douglas County Sentinel for several years before continuing her career with the then State Highway Department of Georgia being instrumental in the completion of several projects including Interstate 20.

She served for many years as a Women’s Sunday School teacher at Ephesus Baptist Church where she was a lifetime member. She spent many summers making quilts with her mother and sister. She also loved to paint, painting many landscapes and still life.

Pauline loved her family and grandchildren, loved to cook making some of the best biscuits ever. She loved to travel going to several foreign countries. She was also the recipient of much loving care given by Lisa Layton Willis who spent many a night by her bed making sure she was happy and content as possible up until the final moments of life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo L. (Judy) Hallman and by her mother and father, Annie Lois and John Bernice Layton.

Mrs. Hallman is survived by her son, Randy Hallman and his wife, Susan of Douglasville, Georgia; her daughter, Rebecca Nacol and her husband, Stephen of Pebble Beach, Calif.; granddaughter, Amy Elizabeth Leatherwood and her husband, Jamey Leatherwood of Douglasville, Georgia, along with two great-grandchildren, Madison and Tyler Leatherwood, and her grandson, Charles Layton Hallman of Winston, Georgia. She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. Reba Nell Ward and family, and her brother, John Lubert Layton, his wife, Joan and family, all of Winston, Georgia.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 3, 2013, from 3 to 5 p.m.

The funeral service will be Monday, March 4, 2013, at Ephesus Baptist Church at 12 noon with Rev. Billy Godwin and Deacon Danny Goddard officiating. She will be placed at the church from 11 to 12 noon prior to the service. Interment will follow in Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery.
