Brown and Lee both had really tough competition in the 10-under age group and with really great efforts from the two 9-year-olds, both ended up finishing with a 2-2 record.
Grant, in the 8-under age group at 68-pounds, had a tough day of his own, but managed to fight his way through to take the third place medal.
“This is a great group of kids that drills and wrestles with each other in practice, and that is a big reason why they have done so well,” said head coach Darrell Brown.
Next year Grant will be in the 10-under age group with Cody and Kaden.
Nate Nelson competed the previous weekend in the Big Kids State Tournament at Parkview High School. Nelson wrestled in the 14-under age group and went 1-2 in the tourney, with his last match being a close and hard fought 7-10 defeat.
Nelson still has one more year remaining in the 14-under age group.
“After reviewing our progress from the start of this season to the end, we are definitely looking forward to next year,” Brown said.
